01Do event stewards need an SIA licence?+
Not for every role. General safety, information and customer-service duties can be non-licensable. If the assigned task crosses into a licensable security activity, appropriately licensed personnel must be used.
02What briefing do stewards receive?+
A useful briefing covers the event layout, role, public information, emergency signals, accessibility, prohibited areas, radio procedure, welfare, escalation and supervisor structure.
03Can stewards help during an evacuation?+
Yes, within their training and the event emergency plan. They can give directions, hold routes, support accessibility and report conditions to supervisors.
